DalHand consists of a framework and code generator that combine to produce an ADO.NET Data Access Layer unlike any other.

DecHand

DecHand is a Decorator Pattern code generator.  In this email, Dot Net Dan fearlessly predicted a proliferation of decorators in the .NET world and sketched out the design of a tool to help.

DecHand is that tool.  It takes an interface or abstract class and generates (in C# or VB) the code of another class that contains definitions of all the abstract methods and properties and optionally delegate their processing to another class.  The download contains all source code and demonstrates:

• XML Serialisation.
• NUnit integration with Visual Studio.
• Use of the CodeDOM base class libraries for code generation.
• Runtime-configurable tracing.
• The relationship between .NET's assemblies and namespaces and Visual Studio's solutions and projects.
• An integrated Visual Studio setup project.

TurnStyle

TurnStyle is a small console application (based on Robert Martin's Three Level FSM Pattern) that has no purpose other than to demonstrate:

• C#
• OO techniques.
• Resource files (for localisation).
• Dynamic class invocation from resource file (for data access strategy).
• Automated unit testing using the NUnit framework.
